Google Magic Pointer: AI Cursor Transforms Interaction

Google is integrating an AI assistant directly into the cursor of its new Googlebook devices. This feature is called the Magic Pointer. The Magic Pointer understands what you're pointing at. For example, if you point at a date, it can help you set up an event or a reminder. If you point at an image of a building, you can ask the Googlebook its location. The goal is to move beyond typing prompts and have the AI understand context automatically. While Googlebooks arrive this fall, you can try out Magic Pointer demos now in AI Studio. These demos include "Point and Speak" for directions and finding things, and "Show and Tell" for editing images. Soon, you'll also be able to "Ask Gemini" with your cursor in Chrome. This innovation could change how you interact with your computer.
