Grok 4.5 in Private Beta at SpaceX & Tesla: Elon Musk

Elon Musk has announced that xAI's new AI model, Grok 4.5, is now in private beta testing at SpaceX and Tesla. This marks its first confirmed deployment within Musk's companies. Grok 4.5 is based on xAI's 1.5-trillion-parameter V9 foundation model. It also uses data from the AI coding assistant Cursor for supplemental training. Musk states that early evaluations show its performance is close to, and possibly even exceeds, Anthropic's Claude Opus. Musk also revealed that xAI plans to release new AI models, trained from scratch, every month for the rest of the year through SpaceX. This indicates a rapid development cycle for their AI efforts. What's interesting is that the V9 model, with its 1.5 trillion parameters, is three times larger than the current model handling Grok's production workloads on X. This news suggests significant advancements in AI capabilities are on the horizon.
