Meta's new AI model, codenamed Watermelon, has matched OpenAI's GPT-5.5 on important benchmarks. This news comes from superintelligence chief Alexandr Wang, who shared the update with employees. Here's the thing: Watermelon is still in training and uses significantly more computing power than its predecessor, called Avocado.
