OpenAI Codex App: Mobile Coding & SSH Support Launched

They can also review outputs, approve commands, and change task direction from the app. This mobile experience is designed for long-running AI-assisted development tasks, letting users monitor and control workflows without needing to be at their desktop. Use cases include debugging software remotely or reviewing changes while commuting. OpenAI also confirmed that Remote SSH support is now generally available. This allows Codex to connect to managed remote environments commonly used by development teams. The desktop Codex app can detect hosts from existing SSH configurations. Once connected, these remote environments can be accessed across signed-in ChatGPT devices. A secure relay system powers these synchronized sessions, keeping trusted development environments reachable across devices without exposing them to the public internet.
