OpenAI is integrating its coding tool, Codex, into the ChatGPT app. This allows users to remotely manage development workflows on mobile devices. The update is currently in preview and available to all users on both iOS and Android. Users can check live environments on any device running Codex directly from their smartphones. They can also work across threads, review results, approve commands, change models, or start new tasks. OpenAI states this is "more than simply remotely controlling a single task or sending a new task to a computer." Previously, OpenAI added a feature that runs Codex in the background on desktop and released a Chrome extension for live browser sessions. This development could change how programmers manage their work on the go.
