It supports companies through the entire evaluation process, including clinical validation and IT integration. This process can otherwise take a year or more. Each project is tied to a real delivery need and sponsored by an operational leader at UCSF Health. The goal is to ensure AI outputs are clinically useful and fit into daily routines. The program also emphasizes trustworthy and responsible AI. This is treated as an engineering requirement. Initial focus areas include AI that supports patients beyond clinic visits and in-hospital use cases like clinical decision support.
