VARCO 3D 2.0: NC AI's Next-Gen 3D Generative AI in July

NC AI has completed development of a next-generation model for its 3D generative AI service, VARCO 3D. This new version, VARCO 3D 2.0, will roll out in July on their cloud-based platform. What's new is a major improvement in shape distortion, a common issue with existing 3D generative AI. VARCO 3D 2.0 accurately reflects silhouettes and proportions, and reproduces complex details. The company released performance benchmarks, showing a score of 0.449 on Uni3D, a shape similarity metric. This is about a 40.8 percent increase from version 1.1. It also outperformed global open-source models like Trellis2 and UltraShape on the same metric. VARCO 3D 2.0 also supports textures up to 4K resolution and realistically implements material textures, fine surface patterns, and wear expression. It can generate 3D assets in as little as 3 minutes, significantly reducing the time and cost compared to traditional methods. The bottom line is this advancement could speed up the creation of data needed for physical AI and digital twins in various industries.
