ChatGPT Work: OpenAI's AI Partner for Complex Tasks

OpenAI is launching ChatGPT Work, a new tool designed to handle complex tasks. It uses GPT-5.6 and Codex technology. This new system gathers information from multiple applications and files to create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and web apps. It can also manage repetitive work and long-running projects, even when users are away. This is possible through features like plugins, a built-in browser, computer-use capabilities, and scheduled tasks. ChatGPT Work runs on GPT-5.6, OpenAI's latest model. One of its models, Sol, shows strong performance in coding, knowledge work, cybersecurity, and science. It can complete tasks with fewer tokens and at a lower cost than previous models. For example, in a test for long professional tasks, Sol scored 53.6 points, significantly outperforming a competitor. It also achieved the highest score ever in the ArtificialAnalysis Coding Agent Index, at 80 points. In cybersecurity evaluations, its performance also saw a notable increase compared to previous versions. This advancement aims to make artificial intelligence a more integrated and efficient partner in the workplace.
