Claude AI India: Subscriptions Start at ₹2,399/Month

Anthropic has launched Claude AI subscription plans in India, with prices starting at Rs 2,399 per month for Claude Pro. This move introduces local pricing, eliminating foreign exchange charges for Indian customers. India is already Claude's second-largest market, representing nearly 6% of its global users. The company is positioning Claude as a premium AI service, unlike ChatGPT and Google Gemini, which offer entry-level plans starting at Rs 399. Anthropic offers multiple subscription tiers. Claude Pro is Rs 2,399 monthly, or Rs 1,999 per month with an annual payment. There are also Claude Max plans for heavy users, priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 23,999 per month. For businesses, Team Standard costs Rs 2,399 per seat per month, and Team Premium is Rs 11,999 per seat per month, both billed annually. These team plans include features like a 200,000-token context window and data privacy guarantees. While Claude Pro is more expensive than ChatGPT Plus and Gemini Pro, Claude Max 5x is priced lower than OpenAI's ChatGPT Pro. This development means Indian users now have more localized options for advanced AI services.
