Cloudflare's Stablecoin Solution for AI Agent Payments

Cloudflare has launched a waitlist for its new Monetization Gateway, a service designed to let customers charge for various digital resources. Payments will settle using stablecoins over the x402 payment protocol. Here's how it works: when a user requests a paid resource, the server responds with pricing and payment details. The user then pays and resubmits the request with proof of payment. This system allows for sub-cent transactions because stablecoin settlement is peer-to-peer, avoiding traditional card fees.
