Pattern Unveils Pi AI Agent at AWS Utah Showcase

An e-commerce technology company called Pattern has unveiled its new AI agent, Pi, at an AWS Utah gathering in Lehi. Pi is an AI system that now handles messages for thousands of users. The event was co-hosted by AWS Utah, Codebase, and Pattern. Engineers, founders, and AI enthusiasts attended to learn about Pi's development. TrueMark sponsored the event. Pattern's Chief Architect, Jason Wells, shared the company's history and its goals for Pi. Pi aims to be a single "always-on" intelligence layer that can reason across all of Pattern's products and data. The system is built on approximately 77 terabytes of proprietary data points. It is designed to be personalization-aware and can proactively act, not just respond. The team focused on trust and accuracy as a foundation for Pi. Instead of using a single agent framework, Pattern built its own internal abstraction, allowing multiple frameworks to plug in. This approach allowed them to switch from Mastra when it didn't meet their needs. This matters because it shows a flexible approach to building advanced AI systems.
