SAP Acquires Dremio: Boosts AI & Data Integration

SAP has completed its acquisition of Dremio, a data lakehouse platform. This allows SAP customers to run analytical and AI workloads across both SAP and non-SAP data sources without moving data. Enterprise decision-makers rank data integration as a top technology priority. This deal directly strengthens SAP’s Business Data Cloud and its agentic AI roadmap. It also aims to improve cost efficiency for enterprise analytics. The acquisition addresses a clear market demand, as 26.8% of decision-makers prioritize data integration and application management as their top technology need. Predictive and analytics AI is also a high priority for 23.3% of respondents. This move helps SAP's customers consolidate their analytics and AI stacks around unified platforms, which is increasingly important as 33.8% of enterprises plan to deploy agentic AI in supply chain operations within the next 18 months. This matters because it offers a more efficient way for businesses to manage their data and power AI initiatives.
