South Korea's Add+i: Secure AI for Internal Networks

A South Korean lab has launched a secure generative AI service called Add+i. This system is available to employees on the agency's closed internal network. The Agency for Defense Development built Add+i using open artificial intelligence models over roughly three months. It started development in December, after forming an AI task force in May 2025. Add+i offers document search, summarization, and translation. It also includes an AI development agent for closed networks and a "vibe coding" feature for generating and testing code. The agency has already used Add+i to build a geospatial information management system and completed beta testing. This shows how organizations can use AI capabilities securely, keeping sensitive data protected.
