US Gov's Gold Eagle: AI Vulnerability Clearinghouse Launched

The U.S. government has launched an AI vulnerability clearinghouse called Gold Eagle. This initiative aims to coordinate the discovery and remediation of vulnerabilities found with artificial intelligence. The Departments of the Treasury, Defense, and Homeland Security built Gold Eagle. It will work with the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Its purpose is to handle AI findings, coordinate, and share vulnerabilities. National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross says this clearinghouse enables unprecedented cybersecurity and patching coordination. It will involve government cybersecurity leaders, industry professionals, open-source software providers, and critical infrastructure operators. A key role of the clearinghouse is to prevent duplicate scanning and fixing of vulnerabilities. This matters because it streamlines efforts to secure essential services and critical infrastructure.
